The founder of Seng Heng, Mr Alan Lim, first set foot in the tentage industry in the 1970s, and has a good 40 years of experience. In 1995, Mr Alan Lim, together with his spouse Mrs Lim, founded Seng Heng Tables & Chairs Rental. Seng Heng began its operations with a team of merely 4 persons, a small and rented warehouse and 1 lorry. In two short decades, the company has expanded to become one of the leaders in the industry locally. At present, there are more than 60 dedicated, experienced and long-serving employees under its wing.


Seng Heng possesses a fleet of two dozen lorries, of which, half come with lorry cranes. It also owns a large warehouse spanning over 90,000 square feet filled with a huge spectrum of goods and materials. With a large inventory, skilled labour and essential equipment, Seng Heng is confident in delivering its services for almost all kinds of events.With its vast experience, Seng Heng has a thorough understanding of clients’ needs. It places great emphasis on prompt and timely delivery for every event. Paying close attention to pre-event planning ensures that all tasks are completed, prior to the commencement of the event. Working alongside event planners, corporations and individuals, Seng Heng provides top quality tentages and necessary accessories, to make events both complete and breathtaking.

Health & Safety

Throughout its years of endeavor, Seng Heng has always placed huge emphasis on health and safety during work. The management has established its own Safety Management System (SMS) to ensure that operations are being carried out safely. A Safe Work Procedure (SWP) is also in place and being reviewed continually. To allow employees to work safely, each individual is provided with Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), such as safety helmets, goggles, boots and harness etc. Through its safe operation practices, Seng Heng has earned itself a certificate of bizSAFE level 3, certified by the Workplace Safety and Health Council (WSHC).

Seng Heng employees are well-trained to work safely. All workers have to undergo the Construction Safety Orientation Course (CSOC) accredited by Ministry of Manpower (MOM). The daily routine operations also require lorry crane lifting, and Seng Heng spares no effort in sending its employees for training. It has a team of trained and certified Crane Operators, Lifting Supervisors, Signalmen and Riggermen to ensure that lifting processes are carried out in the safest possible manner.

Special attention is also paid to workers’ healthcare. At times when Singapore was affected by haze, the management paid close attention to the PSI. When necessary, outdoor operations were regulated and workers were advised to take breaks periodically. Protective masks were also issued to all employees. In the warehouse, water dispensers are equipped with water filters to provide employees with high quality filtered water.
